# Inbox

> Follow your own X account, read each reply under its conversation, and answer it from Nephia.

The **inbox** is where replies to your own posts land, one at a time. The Feed is for what
people say about you anywhere; the inbox is for the people answering you, on the account
you post from. It works on **X**.

## Follow a handle

Open **Inbox › Configure** in the dashboard and follow a handle, your own or your brand's.
Nephia creates a Query behind it that polls the replies to that account's posts. That
Query does not count against your plan's queries, and it does not show in the Feed unless
you switch it on.

A new follow checks every **15 minutes**. You can go down to X's floor, one check a minute,
on every plan: the inbox is not held to the plan's shortest interval, because a reply queue
is worth answering within minutes. Each check is billed like any X poll. The Configure
prints what each interval costs a day before you pick it.

Nephia also reads the account's own posts, once an hour by default, so a reply can be shown
under the post it answers.

## What arrives

Each reply is read like any other mention: a sentiment, an intent, and a rank. The list
puts what deserves an answer first. Mute rules drop the replies you never want to see.

Keyboard: `j` and `k` walk the list, `⌘ ⏎` sends and opens the next reply.

## The conversation

Open a reply and the conversation above it is shown: the root post, the post it answers,
and the reply itself, the middle folded when the thread is long.

When a link of that chain was never captured, the inbox fetches it when you open the reply:
**one search per missing link, up to 6**, at the X search rate. The same conversation is
never charged twice in 24 hours. A link that still cannot be found is shown as a gap with a
link to read it on X, never as an invented post.

## The draft

Ask for a draft and the AI writes one in the tone you pick: `neutral`, `friendly` or
`formal`. It reads the conversation above the reply, and you can add a note of your own
for context. A draft is one AI pass. You edit it before anything else happens.

## Connect X and send

To send from Nephia, connect the X account you post from in **Inbox › Configure ›
Sending**. Following works without it: until an account is connected, you copy the draft
and post it on X yourself.

With an account connected, the composer says **Replying as @handle** and offers **Send**.
Nothing is posted until you press it: no reply is ever sent on its own, on a schedule or by
a rule. If you connected more than one account, you pick which one signs the reply.

Sending is on X only. Replies to Bluesky, Reddit and every other Source are drafted, then
copied and posted by you.

A sent reply is posted through X's official API, which bills every post and bills a post
containing a link far more; the rate covers that. It is **charged only when X accepts the
reply**: a refused or failed send costs nothing. The Send button shows the price before
you press it, and switches to the link rate the moment a link appears in the text.
